| It is the intent of this website to encourage
posting of both source data transcriptions and real-life accounts of the
early pioneers , including the Indian population (the earliest pioneers).
We hope you might come away from this site with a sense of belonging that
makes you want to return. As webmaster, it is my personal hope that you
not only garner genealogical facts, but also feel you have been able to
"walk a mile in the moccasins" of your ancestors who lived in this region,
regardless of their origins. I want you to feel "at home" here and
to look forward to your next visit, when there is likely to be something
new here to benefit you. Sometimes that benefit will be in the form of
source document copies or transcriptions, and sometimes it will be purely
entertaining in a historically accurate story line.
As materials become available and time is allocated for transcriptions, scanning, writing and uploading, we will continue to add to this site and build its archives, in our attempt to accomplish the goals stated above. Right now, there is an extensive backlog of materials that are waiting until I have time to work with them. If there is any way in which you can help with transcribing, web formatting, or anything else, please contact me. Whether or not you can assist with the labor of love that keeps this site going, I hope you will be generous with your resource materials, as others have so generously given of theirs so that we may all enjoy them. --Webmaster

| The reader can find a bird's eye view of life on the Oregon Trail while en route to the land of gold, Indians, and so much more, at the Oregon Pioneers biography section of the Oregon GenWeb site. Many thanks to those fortunate families whose ancestors kept travel logs, we can now truly know, in the pioneers' own words, what life was like on the Oregon Trail... |
The stories of these hearty pioneering men
and women are at the core of our family histories.
Without the stories, all we have are names
and dates.
Please: sit back, put your feet up and enjoy.

A collection of newspaper clippings and
other media that were used to announce births, weddings, deaths, community
events, visitors from out of town, vacations, and other like items. This
section hopefully will continue to grow as new contributions are made by
YOU.
A search box is provided below to search the site for specific names when you don't have time to read each page through, but do come back when you can browse a bit. In many cases, from these clippings you will discover that certain groupings of people were significant to your ancestors, and that can put you on the trail for much more information than you expected to find here. |
