Administrator Named - The county court yesterday appointed Willis M. Driver of Wamic, a brother of the decedent and a resident of property adjoining that of the decedent, as administrator of the estate of Henry E. Driver
deceased; acting on the petition of Mattie Pritchard Driver, the widow, whose home is at 710 Trevitt street, The Dalles.  Driver died intestate in this city November 21.  The personal and real property he left is stated to possess a value in excess of $7,000 and W.E. Woodcock, A.G. Harvey of Wamic have been named to appraise it.  Brown & Van Vactor of The Dalles are attorneys for the estate.

Selectees Depart - The November contingent of Wasco county men for the army, as chosen by the local selective service board, left The Dalles yesterday for service in the armed forces, they were:  Clarence Edwards Turner, Thomas Alton McEldowney, George Albert Savage, Orville Lincoln Gilpin, George Allyn Roberts, Aloysius John Mayer, Albert Lea, Ambrosio Flores Briones, George Riley Catron, Laurence Arthur Mathis, from Dalles City and Wasco county; plus Andrew lafayette Stewart and Clarence Paul Calvert, both of him of whom had been transferred here from Burns.
Appaisers Named - The county court on Saturday appointed Lester Marvel, George Marvel and William Steuber appraiser of the estate of Adda Bolton, deceased, acting on the petition of Gail Bolton as administrator.  Frank G. Dick is attorney for the estate.

Time Extended - An order for extension of time was made by the county cout of Saturday in the estate of Kenneth Stone, deceased, on motion by Wiley McDaniel, the surviving partner, who was "given until December 19, 1842, within which to petition this court for his appointment as administrator of the partnership estate of the said Kenneth Stone, deceased."  John M. Stapleston is the attorney for McDaniel.

Navy Enlists Three - William Wallace Reid of this city is among new recruits enlisted by the navy, it was announced today.  Robert A. Kennedy of The Dalles and Donald T. von Borstel of Grass Valley, have been accepted
as naval cadets, it is announced by Commander Bert H. Creighton, senior member of the naval aviation cadet selection board for the 13th naval district, and will begin their training at St. mary's college in Moraga, Calif., before being inducted into active service.

Last Rites Held - The funeral of Alonzo W. Boyce, who died at his home, 1212 East 13th street, this city, November 27, was held at 10 o'clock this morning in the chapel of C.R. Callaway & Son, with services conducted by
Rev., Harry Baird, pastor of the Church of Christ.  The body was taken to Madras, where at 2:30 this afternoon, graveside services were conducted  in the Madras cemetery, conducted by the Madras lodge, I.O.O.F. of which the
deceased was a member.

Licensed to Wed - A marriage license was issued on Saturday, March 7 to William C. Wegener, 40, The Dalles, and Elizabeth B. Owen, The Dalles,
records of the county clerk's office revealed today.

Births Reported - A daughter was born yesterday at The Dalles to Mr. and Mrs C.F. Porter of Fossill.  A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Peetz of Tygh Valley yesterday at The Dalles hospital.

Family Reunion Is Held at Bear Spring
   Members of th Nickerson family gathered at Bear Springs yesterday for their annual reunion.  Following a picnic dinner served at noon, the group played games and visited Timberline lodge
   Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Sumner, Mrs. Mary Mood and son, Bobbby, Mr and Mr Kenneth Craig and Mr and Mrs Harry Terwilliger and daughters Betty Jo and Peggy Marie all of Bend; Mr and Mrs S.B. Nickerson, Mr and Mrs S.C. Nickerson, Mr and Mrs Sam Standow, Mr and Mrs J.H. Haas and Mr and Mrs George Case, all of Portland; Fred Theakston and Francis Crum
and daughter, Ruth, of Monessen, Pa., and Mr and Mrs C.H. Gilpin and daughter, Loa May, Jake Obrist, and Mr and Mrs C.L. Johns, all of The Dalles.

8 STUDENT NURSES TO GET DIPLOMAS

   With Dorothy McCullough Lee, state senator, of Portland as the commencement speaker, eight student nurses of The Dalles hospital school of nursing will receive their diplomas tomorrow evening in exercises at the first Congregational church.  Senator Lee will be introduced by Senator P.J. Stadelman of The Dalles.
   Rev. Edward F. Ouellette will give the invocation, following the processional of the nurses, after which Miss Clara E. Wolfe superintendent of The Dalles hospital will make a short address.  The Dalles Hospital Choral club, directed by Mrs. W.H. Wilhelm will sing "Indian Dawn" (Zamecnik-Ross) and "Neapolitan Nights" (Zamenik-Kerr) preceeding the introduction of
Senator Lee.
   At the close of the address, Dr. J.A. Reuter, president of the hospital, will present the diplomas and Miss Ruby Beauclair, superintendent of nurses, will give the nurses their pins.  The graduating class then will give the Nightingale pledge, followed by the congratulatory message by Dr. T.E. Griffith, director of the school of nursing.
   Miss Shirley Mae Brunn, graduating senior, will give the farewell address for the graduates, after which Rev. Lloyd Anderson will pronounce the benediction.  The processional and accompaniment will be played by Mrs. Grace Gavin Lewis.
   The junior Aid society of the Congregational church will serve refreshments in the A.W. Tenny room of the church at the close of the commencement exercizes from 9:30 to 11 o'clock.
   The graduating calss includes the Misses Naomi Kathryn Beck, Shirley Mae Brunn, Elizabeth Ann Chase, Marian Garbe, Vesta May Hurley, Hazel Irene Johnson, Evelyn M. Kirk and Ardyth Erlene McMahon.

Miss Eaton Honored At Shower Party
   Mrs. W.F. Darnielle and daughter, Miss Dora Darnielle, were hostesses Thursday afternoon at a miscellaneous shower, honoring Miss Mary Eaton, bride-elect of John McLachlan, whose marriage will be an even of Sunday, January 18, at a military service to be read at Fort Lewis.
   Ice cream and cake were served with each person present designing a tea twoel and completing it for the honor guest.  Original poems, written by the guests, also accomplanied each shower gift.
   Covers were placed for the Mesdames William Pease, Raleigh Scott, Earl Stevens, Ralph McLachlan, Frank Nye, Elizabeth Owens, Jennie Burget, Mabel Smith, Myrle Matthews, George Ubank and the Misses Mary Morris, Teresa
Jones, Grace Lange, Vivieene Britt, Victoria Thompson, the hostesses, and Miss Eaton.
