Facts and Info: I am trying to find
information on GEORGE ALBERT DAVIS who moved from Kansas after 1903
where he worked in the coal fields. We don't know his wifes name as he
called her sweetheart. He had a brother named Joseph. His son George
Wesley Davis Jr. born 1903, Galena KS, married 1st Lela Cox
daughter of Leona Padgett and Johnny
Cox. They had two children, George Wesley Davis Jr. and Artis Jeanne
Marie Davis who married Rodney Miller.
George Wesley Davis Sr. married
2nd Martha ? He lived with Leila in Oregon City and worked at Holly Pulp
and Paper in the late 30's. He was in the Sea Bee's in World war 2. He
moved to Willamina, Ore. World War 2 in the Phillipines.
George Albert told his desendents
that they came or were desended from Wales. We do know they were
in Missouri prior to Kansas but do not know when.
Any information at all would

Thomas Brooks Hall 1827-1904) had a livery stable east of The Dalles at
the time of the 1870 census. His wife Frederica kept the house, and
two daughters Louisa (11 yrs old) and Ida (9 yrs old) both attended school.
I know that by 1884 he had re-married and started over in Long Creek, Grant
County, Oregon, but I'd like information about that first family, and about
the business in The Dalles. |

under construction, August 27, 1869, Dunlap, Harrison Co., IA. He was listed
in 1860 Harrsion County Census as head of household & farmer.
He also was lay preacher at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Woodbine,
Harrison Co., IA -- this church listed him as Rev. Hiram C. Moore.

06, 1842, Peru, IN. Elvira, born Feb 1, 1824, Guilford, NC was the d/o
Himelius & Priscilla (Coffin) Mendenhall
of NC>IN; and she died Jan 30, 1899, Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon.
Elvira migrated from NC>IN>IA>OR. Their children are:

Elvira (Mendenhall) Moore with 4 sons

migrated to Nansene on Tygh Ridge (near
Dufur), Wasco County,
Oregon. James W. & Orrie E. Moore with
infant son, Orrin Whitney Moore, b. January 31, 1877, took the locamotive
train to California and then went on up into Oregon.
Orrin Whitney Moore (1877-1945)
is my father. Elvira (Mendenhall) Moore is buried at IOOF-Dufur in same
plot with William H. & Almira J. Moore and Hiram "Embree" & Hattie
Moore. My grandparents, James Whitcomb & Orrie E. (Greene) Moore are
buried in another plot in IOOF-Dufur Cemetery.
We are looking for Uncle Phillip (Harrison
Phillip MOORE). When I was a child, I met him on his visit to the
Moore Ranch at Nansene. Recently, descendents were found living in Washington
State. |
