Settlement Area: The Dalles

Facts and Info: I am trying to find information on GEORGE ALBERT DAVIS who moved from Kansas after 1903  where he worked in the coal fields. We don't know his wifes name as he called her sweetheart.  He had a brother named Joseph. His son George Wesley Davis Jr. born 1903, Galena KS, married 1st Lela Cox daughter of Leona Padgett and Johnny Cox.  They had two children, George Wesley Davis Jr. and Artis Jeanne Marie Davis who married Rodney Miller.
   George Wesley Davis Sr. married 2nd Martha ? He lived with Leila in Oregon City and worked at Holly Pulp and Paper in the late 30's. He was in the Sea Bee's in World war 2. He moved to Willamina, Ore. World War 2 in the Phillipines.
   George Albert told his desendents that they came or were desended from Wales.  We do know they were in Missouri prior to Kansas but do not know when.

Facts and Info:  He was born abt 1870 in MO, need to know who his parents was, he married a lady named Mary, last known residence was Mosier, in Wasco Co, OR in 1920.

Facts and Info:  My GGrandfather, Thomas Brooks Hall 1827-1904) had a livery stable east of The Dalles at the time of the 1870 census.  His wife Frederica kept the house, and two daughters Louisa (11 yrs old) and Ida (9 yrs old) both attended school.  I know that by 1884 he had re-married and started over in Long Creek, Grant County, Oregon, but I'd like information about that first family, and about the business in The Dalles.

Facts and Info:  Hello, I'm looking for Arthur Leslie MYERS m. Minnie Arizona REED. They had several children born in The Dalles. Ethel b. 1917. Edna, Vera b. 1916. Ray b. 1914. Arthur Jr. b. 1914. Everett b. 1916. Viola b. 1914. 
   Athur Leslie MYERS had three brothers: Ray, Ira and Preston.  Minnie Arizona REED had three brothers: Al, Tom and Neil.

Facts and Info:  Looking for information on gr-gr-grandf Thomas Francis Augustus Ryan, born 1826 Tipperary, moved to 15 mile area @1874, ranched wheat w/ wife Katherine Morrissey Ryan, died 1891. Two daughters: Mary (Mame) Theresa Spath (Jacob Spath) and Julia Ann Anderson(Enoch Anderson). 
   Desperate to find photo of Thomas and/or wife and exact location of birthplace in Tipperary. Have seen gravestone near Rondeau land, which lists only Irish county. Possible RYAN connections to Sarsfield and/or Callahan names. Appreciate any info or inquiries. Aislinn at Waltsjmpr@aol.com

Facts and Info:  Hiram MOORE, born April 09, 1819, Preble County, OH>IN>Harrison County, IA; is believed to be the s/o William Moore, E TN>OH>IN married Catherine Cotener of Germany.  Hiram died of a lightning strike in doorway of a house under construction, August 27, 1869, Dunlap, Harrison Co., IA. He was listed in 1860 Harrsion County Census as head of household & farmer.  He also was lay preacher at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Woodbine, Harrison Co., IA  -- this church listed him as Rev. Hiram C. Moore.

Hiram Moore married Elvira MENDENHALL Jan 06, 1842, Peru, IN. Elvira, born Feb 1, 1824, Guilford, NC was the d/o Himelius & Priscilla (Coffin) Mendenhall of NC>IN; and she died Jan 30, 1899,  Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon.  Elvira migrated from NC>IN>IA>OR. Their children are:

- William Himelius Moore, b. April 14, 1843, Peru, IN; m. Almira J. Town, 1808, Woodbine, IA.; died 1899, Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon. 
- Ira Mendenhall Moore, b. May 23, 1846, Peru, IN; m. Hattie C. Cessna, 1873 Harrisburg, IA. - migrated to Long Pine, NE.
- James Whitcomb Moore, b. October 10, 1848, Peru, IN; m. Orrie Emily Greene, Mar. 26, 1876, Dunlap, IA; died June 8, 1933, Dufur, Oregon
- Martha M. Moore, b. Aug. 25, 1851, Miami, IN; m. Hollis Phillips May 12, 1870, Dunlap, IA. (last records in abt 1902, shows living in Dunlap, Harrison Co., IA)
- Harrison "Phillip" Moore, b. July 16, 1854, Miami, IN; m. Ada G. Myers Oct. 1886, Woodbine, IA; migrated to Wasco County, OR.
- Hiram "Embree" Moore, b. Jan 16 1857, Harrisburg, IA; d.and is buried Dufur, Wasco Co., OR. Hiram E. Moore m. Hattie Lisle in Long Pine, NE.
- Alvah J. Moore (daughter), b. Sept 25, 1859, Harrisburg, IA; d. Nov. 17, 1864, Woodbine, IA.

 Elvira (Mendenhall) Moore with 4 sons and their families
migrated to Nansene on Tygh Ridge (near Dufur), Wasco County,
Oregon. James W. & Orrie E. Moore with infant son, Orrin Whitney Moore, b. January 31, 1877, took the locamotive train to California and then went on up into Oregon. 
   Orrin Whitney Moore (1877-1945) is my father. Elvira (Mendenhall) Moore is buried at IOOF-Dufur in same plot with William H. & Almira J. Moore and Hiram "Embree" & Hattie Moore. My grandparents, James Whitcomb & Orrie E. (Greene) Moore are buried in another plot in IOOF-Dufur Cemetery.

We are looking for Uncle Phillip (Harrison Phillip MOORE).  When I was a child, I met him on his visit to the Moore Ranch at Nansene. Recently, descendents were found living in Washington State.

Facts and Info: Does anyone have an 1880 Census Index that could look up the listing for Greenberry Ballard, Wasco County (Wascounty the way listed on Anestry.com) who is listed in Lone Rock Pct, page 189.  Would really appreciate it.

Facts and Info: I am researching the Isaac & Margaret (Davidson) Lousignont family.  Isaac is the son of John &
Delilah Lousignont.  Margaret is the daughter of Hamilton & Frances Emily Davidson.  Isaac & Margaret were married in 1889 in Forest Grove, then came to Juniper Flat near Maupin in about 1902.  They had 3 children:  Frances, John, and Ada.

Facts and Info: I am researching the Hamilton & Frances Emily Davidson family.  The Davidsons were married in Iowa
and came to Oregon with 7 children ages 4 to 17 in the Spring of 1884 in a covered wagon.  They first settled briefly at Adams, OR then shortly thereafter moved on to the Forest Grove area.  In 1894 they moved to Juniper Flat near Maupin.

Facts and Info: I am researching the James & Elizabeth (McKeand) Nelson family.  The Nelsons came to the Mt Hood Flat area in about 1880.  Their son, David married Joanna Stewart the daughter of John & Janet Fenwick Stewart.

Facts and Info: I am researching the James & Victoria Ball family.  They came to the Kingsley area in about 1889.
Later they moved to Tygh Ridge near Nansene.  They had 7 children:  James Nelson, William Henry, Remo Albert,
Joseph Daniel, Frank Martin, Anna Agnes, and John David.  I am James Nelson Ball's grandson.
