Ancestor Name: Katherine "Kitty" BICE

Settlement Area: The Dalles

Facts and Info: Katherine was the dau of Sidney and Margaret Bice. The family lived in the area for quite a long time, apparently.
They left and moved to the Oregon coast after Kitty was convicted of killing a man. She  ultimately served 5 years for the crime.
At some point, Kitty also "ran" the Blue Goose Saloon (and brothel). According to family lore, her family left the area "in shame" to get away from the notoriety created by "Miss Kitty". She was married to Bruce Hunt "Smoky" Heuston and they had a son named Alan.  We would really like to be able to find the newspaper articles, etc. and any other family history. Please respond to the yahoo email address, too. I am traveling and accessing the Yahoo email daily to check for messages but don't always have time to check each site I've posted to. Thanks!

Ancestor Name: Samuel Mark Newton HEADLEY

Settlement Area: The Dalles

Facts and Info: I am looking for info on any of the following people, and ancestors or descendants of the following people. My great grandfather was Samuel Mark Newton Headley born about 1847 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  He married Mary Josephine Walker born about 1859 in The Dalles, Oregon. Their usual place of residence as listed on Albert's "Delayed Birth Record" is Wapinitia. Their children were Tom, Mark, Luke, Albert Ross(BERT)born 1897 on Juniper Flat approximately 50 miles southeast of The Dalles, James Clifford b1893 in Scappoose, Oregon, John Manson b 1885, George (Malcolm possibly middle name), born possibly 1880, and Gladys.  It is thought that there were other siblings but their names are unknown.  It is said that these siblings were raised in Oregon and when they got older most or all of them moved off with John and Albert (BERT) moving to Arizona, George to California, James Clifford to Illinois.  James Clifford married Frances Mae Hartman in Springfield, Illinois.  Their two children: Warren Clifford, Gerald Francis.  Albert Ross married Thelma Whitehead from Tuscola, Texas.  Albert Ross is buried in Wickenburg Cemetery in Wickenburg, Arizona.  John married Frances J. (maiden name unknown). John and Frances Headley are buried at the Holy Hope Catholic Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona.

Please contact me with any info or suggestions.  Thanks very much.
